Virtel has been deployed since 2006 at a major European car manufacturer as part of a CICS application generator that lets global manufacturing divisions and partners consult CHIMRISK, a database that documents the risks of chemical components used in car manufacturing.
The CICS application generator uses Virtel to capture the database query input and display the query result through 3 screens:
- Question
- List of answers
- Answer details with large icons (rather than text) to help users in an industrial environment
Some users are allowed to generate an Excel spreadsheet for the 2nd screen data while other are allowed to generate a PDF file instead.
